About Quavuan
Quavuan is a happy, very social, endearing youngster. He interacts well with adults and response very well to attention. Quavuan has severe global developmental delays as the result of Angelman’s Syndrome. Although unable to speak, Quavuan uses gestures when reaching for a toy or someone he likes. He is not allowed anything per mouth and receives nourishment through a feeding tube. Quavuan ambulate with a gait trainer and much supervision. He uses a wheelchair for mobility. Quavuan takes medication to minimized seizure activity and asthma. He is able to attend a school for children with developmental disabilities where he receives physical, occupational and speech/feeding therapy. Quavuan is medically stable despite his Medically Fragile designation. He requires constant attention and assistance with daily living activities. Quavuan will benefit from the love of a committed family who is willing to learn the skills necessary to attend to his multiple needs and the care that he requires.
