About the Siblings
Andrew, born in 1997 entered care with his older brother. The two brothers share a very close bond and want to be adopted by the same family so they can stay together. Andrew is in the 8th grade (2011-2012 school year) and excels academically.
Andrew’s favorite indoor activities are playing x-box, computer games, and going to the movies. He likes to watch true story movies like “The Grid Iron Gang” and “Remember the Titans”. He also likes to watch superhero movies like “Spider Man”. He enjoys participating in the Boy Scouts program. He prefers to play outside and enjoys playing baseball and football. He also likes to build stuff. He and his brother built a tree house that they were very proud of. He is very independent in his ideas about building things and works very well by himself without adult supervision when he is constructing something. He likes to do yard work – push mow and weed eat.
Like many other boys his age, Andrew is very fascinated by cars. He can tell you the model of many of the cars he sees on the road. He loves those cars that have customized body work and music systems. Andrew likes to listen to rap, rock and pop music. He sings along to the music, but mumbles his way through parts he does not quite understand.
Patrick, born July 1996, is in the 9th grade (2011-2012 school year) and is a very likable youngster. He enjoys conversations with others, especially his younger brother. The two can talk for hours about fantasy or video games. Patrick loves to read and is a fan of the Harry Potter series of books and has read all volumes several times. He also enjoys the Eragon series and other fantasy-type books. Patrick is also interested in video games. He and his brother will play the games and talk about what they can do or need to do to overcome the level that they are stuck on. Patrick also likes super heroes.
Patrick is a very intelligent young man. He reads at a high level and does not need academic assistance. Patrick is aware of his high level of intelligence and uses his knowledge to manipulate others into doing what he wants them to do. Patrick's socialization skills are limited and he also uses his intelligence to "make up" for what he lacks in social skills.
Patrick and his brother are very close and love one another dearly. They do however, fight with one another. They are very competitive and have a difficult time understanding that one or the other will sometimes be better at different talents than the other. The current care givers for both Patrick and his brother are diligently trying to teach these boys that they are both unique in their own ways.
