Permanent Families Recruitment Project
The Permanent Families Recruitment Project is aimed at increasing permanency for children by increasing the number of foster and adoptive homes in Ramsey County of Minnesota. African American children and older children and youth will be the initial focus of the plan, and lessons learned from working with the African American community will be used beginning in the third year of the project to partner and work with the Hispanic/Latino community.
To guide the development, implementation and evaluation of the project, Ramsey County Community Human Services Department is using best practices and input from:
- Foster and adoptive parents
- Youth in foster care
- Adopted youth
- Foster care and adoption/guardianship unit staff
- Community members and leaders form the African American and Hispanic/Latino communities
