Recruitment and Kin Connection Project
The Recruitment and Kin Connection Project is a 2010 diligent recruitment project administered by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Chicago, Illinois. The target population includes:
- Children entering the child welfare system for the first time with at least one child who is 11 years old
- Youth 14 and older with a goal of long term foster care or independence who are getting ready to exit the system and have no stable family connections
The purpose of the project is to improve permanency outcomes for children in Illinois, facilitate active concurrent planning activities, and improve system response to permanency.
