Hi, I’m Giovanny, I was adopted six months ago. I was in foster care for 9 years and lived in many homes; this is why I am so glad that I was finally adopted. I am really glad Mattie is my mom, my real mom and she is no longer my foster mom. I am eleven years old, and there were a few times when different people were going to adopt me and then nothing happened. I liked the houses that I lived in and my aunts which is what I called my foster mothers. I always wanted to go to one school and not be moved around every year. I never went to the same school for two years; I did not like that at all. Now, I’ve been in the same school for two years and I am playing soccer too. I am going to middle school and all the kids from my school are going there too. I never played any sports and I love to play sports. I am really short and if I had done more sports I would have been happier. Now, I have a real family, brothers and sisters and a mom and grandmother, I like it very much.

My new mom is really great; she takes me to play baseball and soccer and she stays with me at the practices and games. She even put me in a baseball training school so that I could learn how to play baseball. I am getting to be really good in baseball. It is great to be adopted it’s like I am a regular kid now. I am planning to go to college in the future and I know that now that I am adopted this will help me be the best I can be. I live in Miami and I have 3 brothers and 5 sisters, it is great.
