Training and Technical Assistance Services

In collaboration with the DHHS Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Regional Offices and the Children's Bureau, AdoptUsKids provides training and technical assistance (T/TA) to help States and Tribes achieve their Title IV-B Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP) requirements and Title IV-E Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) goals on issues that pertain to the development & implementation of quality recruitment & retention services for foster & adoptive families. AdoptUsKids has also been designated by the Children's Bureau as the lead organization to provide T/TA around interjurisdictional recruitment and placement practices.


Supporting the CFSR Process

  • Providing individualized assessments of recruitment & retention needs
  • Exploring & disseminating information about established, effective recruitment activities & initiatives
  • Offering access to a team of national experts for consultation & support on recruitment & retention issues
  • Working strategically with public child welfare agencies & Tribes to tailor T/TA services in the area of recruitment & retention
  • Producing informative booklets for caseworkers & prospective foster and adoptive families on best practices in recruitment/retention of families, writing child profiles, and matching waiting children & youth with families
  • Providing consultation and technical assistance in supporting best practice in interjurisdictional placements.

As a service funded by the Children's Bureau, AdoptUsKids can provide on-site training and/or technical assistance to States, U.S. Territories and Indian Tribes.


Please note - all requests for on-site T/TA must be approved by your ACF Regional Office.
