Licensing Requirements to Adopt

If you live outside of the U.S., it IS possible for you to adopt a U.S. child from foster care. There are two agencies that can assist you with the adoption process. These agencies are Adopt Abroad and VIDA (Voice for International Development and Adoption). Please contact each agency to learn about their individual programs, requirements and costs. Their contact information is listed below.


Does it Cost to Foster or Adopt?

Private Child Placement Agencies provide adoption licensing services for a fee. Please contact the individual agency (contact information is located in the Agency Contact section) for their costs.


Parent Support Groups

Please contact Adopt Abroad or VIDA (contact information is located in the Agency Contact Section) for their suggestions.
