David

David is a young man whose big personality beams as brightly as his smile. Inquisitive and social, he is in his element during shared activities with a goal in mind and his own part to play. An ordinary visit to the zoo was transformed for David when he had the opportunity to take pictures of the animals on a cell phone and guide the group through the exhibits using a map.

David loves to make people laugh! His quirky sense of humor and active imagination shine as he improvises ridiculous lyrics and funny dances. Younger children particularly appreciate his antics. He has a soft spot in his heart for them too, regularly stepping in to act as interpreter for youngsters who are having difficulty making themselves understood.

David enjoys riding his bike, is interested in math, and devotes hours to reading comic books, graphic novels, and young adult fiction by authors like Rick Riordan and Tonke Dragt. His true passion, though, is all things electronic. Computer and video games are a favorite pastime. David takes joy in explaining to others the finer points of strategy in the games he plays!

When asked about his hopes for the future, David shared that he’d like to have a dog, his own bedroom, and family members who will play video games with him. David will do best with parents who can spend one-on-one time with him and provide the structure, support, and love he needs to thrive. It’s important that David’s adoptive family help him stay in touch with his sister and his current foster family.
