Andrew is a slender 10 year old boy with short blond hair and blue eyes. Andrew is legally free and came into care in 2005. Andrew is a very likable little boy who enjoys sharing with you his adventures and the things he is good at doing. During Andrew's early years, he experienced some very rough times that affected his emotional, behavioral and academic development. During his 2007-08 school year, Andrew was able to repeat Kindergarten which gave him a boost forward behaviorally and academically. This school year, Andrew will be attending the third grade with IEP assistance. Andrew has made some significant gains in the last 2 years and it is believed that when he is placed with a committed family he will continue to thrive. Andrew's worker would like Andrew to be placed with a family who can provide him with a very structured and predictable daily routine to help him stay on track. Andrew functions best when he knows what the rules and behavioral expectation are and when there are goals and rewards for him to work towards.
Andrew enjoys school and reports that his favorite classes are math, reading and art. He also enjoys swimming, skate boarding and anything Star Wars. This past summer, Andrew had the opportunity to go camping with his foster family and attend a overnight summer camp. After these experiences, Andrew discovered that he enjoyed anything outdoors. Despite the many challenges Andrew has faced in his young life, his worker believes that he is doing remarkably well. She also believes that with the right family, Andrew can begin to address his many loses and reduce the anxiety he has experienced from a lack of permanence and stability in his life.
