May 2008 Caseworker of the Month

Cookie Sturgeon

Cookie Sturgeon

Ocala, Florida

“Cookie is great! I wish there were more workers like her. Any prospective adoptive family would be lucky to have Cookie as their case manager. We know it takes a special person to work in this field but with Cookie's combination of sensitivity and determination she's a great worker and we were very lucky to have her as our case manager.“

The Van Hoose Family
Adopted 2 children

"It's hard work but I love my job. I am where I'm supposed to be and I am doing what I'm meant to do." - Cookie Sturgeon

Cookie’s supervisor said, “She has finalized many adoptions and always goes the extra mile for families in need. On many occasions, Cookie has given up her weekends to ensure that visits with prospective families go smoothly and the children feel safe and secure. Cookie has literally driven hundreds of miles throughout Florida to pick up or drop off children to their prospective homes. She is well-liked and respected by external adoption agencies and her children on her case load just adore her, as we all do. Cookie is truly an asset to our team and her love for children is never-ending. It is a pleasure being her supervisor!”
