June 2008 Caseworker of the Month
Rachel Polo
Child Welfare Specialist II
Livingston Louisiana OCS
I would like to nominate my caseworker Rachel Polo for "Caseworker of the Month". Rachel is an EXCEPTIONAL caseworker that ALWAYS puts the needs of the children in her care first. Rachel takes time out of her life to attend baseball games, doctor's appointments, birthday parties and school programs of all of the children on her caseload. Rachel consistently goes above and beyond to make sure the needs of each of these children are met. In all the years I have been a foster parent I have NEVER seen a caseworker more involved with her foster parents and children. Rachel was adopted when she was 17 and understands the needs of foster children. To Rachel each child deserves to be loved and feel safe and she strives to make sure this happens. It is evident to anyone who has ever worked with her that she truly loves what she does and that she became a social worker because she wants to change the lives of children. Rachel really deserves to be recognized. To her foster parents Rachel is more of a friend than a caseworker and to the children on her caseload she is a guardian angel. Rachel Polo has been there for us anytime we needed her. She is caring and compassionate. She goes out of her way to make sure we have everything we need and ALWAYS keeps us informed about everything. She truly has been amazing and we are so lucky to have her as our caseworker.

“Chad and Cyndy Bauers have been foster parents for several years and have adopted 3 children from our agency and are currently the foster/pre-adoptive placement for one child that is on my caseload. Cyndy and Chad are very patient, loving and wonderful parents that take excellent care of the children that they have fostered. Cyndy and Chad love these children like they are their biological children and it has been a great pleasure working with this family.” – Rachel Polo
