Licensing Requirements for Foster or Adoption
You need to become licensed to foster and/or adopt from foster care. To do this, you can work with a local CPS office or a private placement agency.
Adoption
If you are adopting without fostering a child first, your adoption will be completed by a private child placement agency. View a list of adoption agencies.
Foster Care
For information on becoming a Foster Parent in Wyoming, please read the following foster care pamphlet.
Does it Cost to Foster or Adopt?
No, adoption does not have to be expensive! Many families adopt each year using low-cost to almost no-cost adoption options.
Private placement agencies will place waiting children in the foster care system in an adoptive placement. When contacting private agencies please specify you want to adopt from Foster Care to ensure you receive the correct information. Fees may vary depending on individual situations. For specific questions and information, contact Sarah Hunter (303-755-4756, ext. 277, shunter@adoptex.org), your Recruitment Response Team.
